The general cargo returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am. yesterday were slightly higher than the pre- vious day. Both local imports and through freights showed increases, with Japanese ships as best cargo carriers. Carge discharged from ten resses for this port amounted to 8,983 tons of which 2,502 tons were discharged from three British ships. The heaviest carrier was the s.3. Saikhe Maru (Japanese) from Vancouver and Keelung with 2,080 tons of general merchandise, and the Bellorophen, Feb. 20th. MAST OF HSIN WAH NOW INVISIBLE.

The fore mast of the ill-fated "Hsin Wah" which sank on the rocks of Waglan Lighthouse was formerly visible, at low tide. News was received yesterday that the mast hai now disappeäred, and it ia presumed that the vessel has roll- ed over, or otherwise moved,

Four mistresses of cargo boats appeared before Commander G. F.. Hols at the Marine Court yester day morning for lying inshore at a distance of less than 100 yards from the low water mark. The defen- dants pleaded guilty and were fined 85.each, with the alernative of åve days' hard labour.
