was particularly looking out for suitable things when I paid my weekly visit. Damascened cigarette cases caught my eye first. They are equally appreciated by men Or women and are in various patteras and prices.

HATS.

Felix has, as usual, this week some very pleasing and inexpensive little frocks and hats for both, afternoon. and evening wear,..

For evening the first dress I noticed was a fobè de style in kläck taffetas. which was scalloped at the hem, and has a quaint panel of little ruffles down the front of the skirt. The skirt has a graceful sweep down to ankle length at the back and is quite short in front. Another robe de style is "in soft green satin and is made with pan- nier hips.

Three afternoon frocks in parti- cular attracted me. One is in beige georgette and is made in cross over style. Set fat inside the neck line is a piece of very fine lace in der shade, which would make it a most becoming garment for an older woman. Very smart is an all black georgette dress with a tiered skirt and a sort of short. cape or very deep Peter Pan collar. This dress relies entirely on its cut for its chic effect and achieves it remarkably well. Apple green geor- gette is also made with a tiered ekirt and finished with a bright little jewelled buckle at the waist.

Among the hats I was particular- ly struck with the scarlet and the new madonna blue felts. They are very well cut and simply and smartly trimmed I noticed too, that some of the felt hats have brims of printed velvet which is cor of the very newest ideas. That quite delightful combination of velvet and lamé is also well repre- sented in this shop which makes a speciality of smart and up-to-the- minute hats.
