There was a large gathering at the Royal Yacht Club, and at the con- clusion of the day's events Chief- tain C. G. S. Mackie banded over the St. Andrew's banner to Mr. C. G. Alabaster, past president of the St. George's Society, in the absence of Mr. L G. Bird.
In surrendering the Eng. Mr. A. L. Shields. said that he was glad that the St. George's yacht crew had secured the victory this year. It was the other way about last year, and although they were los ing their flag this season, he was nevertheless glad to see that the competition was not one-sided. He congratulated the winning Society and expressed the hope that his side will recapture the banner when they meet again.
Speaking on behal of the win ning bowlers, Mr. Alabaster said they were glad because they had won both on land and on water Mrs. Mackie presented the winners with a silver spoon each.
