BIG INCREASED EXPECTED,

MANILA, Dec. 1st.

Increase of 40,235 metric tons in centrifugal sugar crop for 1999-29 is forecast for the Philip- pines over the 1927-28 crop.

This estimate, which did not take account of recent typhoon damage, was issued by trustees of the Philippine Sugar Association. It gives the total for this year as probably 615,000 tons," while that of last season was 574,715 tons.

Of the last season's crop, 523,708 tons were exported, leaving 'ap- proximately 50,00 tonë consumed locally. Exports for the 1929-20 are estimated at 515,000 tons, leaving about 65,000 tons for local consumption

season

Beports on the typhoon damage are coming in slowly, and indicate that the Negros crop will be some what reduced, while it is possible that the northern districts of Luzon may also show a cut.
