ATHLETIC.

THE HONG KONG DAILY PRESS, MONDAY, DECEMBER 3rd, 1928.

An exciting struggle was wit- nessed at King's Park on Satur. day when Recreio and Chinese Athletic shared 6 goals in a match which was packed with excitement Pereria worked the ball down eleverly and gave to Rocha who netted the first goal. Play con tinued in favour of Recreio, but the Athletic defence were at the top of their form. The Recreio backs were none too steady and a mis take by Xavier let in Yik Chan Pong, who equalised with a fine shot. The same player made an opening for Yuan San Shun to put the visitors ahead just before the interval.

Half-time

Recreio..............

The quality of the play fell

during AWS considerably

the second half but "Queen's" though struggling desperately for the lead finished in inollective style. Wynne and Williams gave of their best at full-back, their tackling being 4 great sight. An accurately placed corner by. Hibbert nearly brought about the downfall of the Police goal, but Clarke scrambled the ball away and Williams cleared. Just sa a goalless draw appeared to be indicated-Pile-raced away for the Police and cleverly eluding Hooper, shot from close range, Dodda managed to get as the ball but could only partially clear and Pile made no mistake with his second attempt. Police packed their goal in the closing stages and successfully kept their opponents at bay.

Notts County, Second Division loaders, drew with Bradford, sharing är goals Hall and Chelsea also shared the points and retain their running order with the leaders, Swansea had their periodical to-day and let Millwall do all the scoring. Six visiting teams drew their matches and the remainder were beaten.

The defeat of Luton, the Southern section leaders, by Gilling- ham was another surprise. Plymouth settled down in the premier place. Visiting teams failed to register a win, but succeeded in drawing three games. In the other section Wrexham were dethron- ed by the loss of a point and Bradford City's victory over Southport Walsall in the Southern section and Stockport in the Northern each netted seven goals.
