The coroner had previously stated that there had apparently been twe men in the case. Although Mias Escott had been ill for ten days, no cffort was made to send her to hospital.

Mr. H. Dickens, acting on in- structions from the Medical Defence Union, appeared for Dr. Christie Anderson, whose name had been

Sir Albion Richardson represent- ofed Mr. Worth.

It was to consist of eighty on secutive treatments-exclusive Sundays--at a fee of £100. This began on October 21st, but on November 26th, after Miss McCal. man had not been altogether. ŝatis- fied with her treatment, Miss Walton wrote to her explaining that she (Miss Walton) wanted a holiday and suggesting that she should renew the treatment in the new year.

Mr. Dickens said that everybody realised that insinuations had been made against Dr. Anderson, and he" Would like to ask Worth some ques-

And that is the woman' you sent to this girl to be friends with ?—Yes.

The coroner, at one stage of Ms. Worth's evidence, warned him not to be frivolous, and a little later exclaimed, "Why do you tell lies? Cannot you tell the truth for once 7"

Mr. Worth, replying to further questions, said that he was begin- ning to doubt that Miss Escott and Mrs. Young did go to Dr. Ander- LOD

Miss Walton, in evidence, said that all her patients were sent to her by well-known medical men. Miss McCalman benefited by the treatment, and other cases had beea successful.

"Next day," she added, Miss McCalman came with tears in her eyes and said that she bad been awake all night.
