MISSED THE CASE.

LONDON, Oct. 23th... The Boan divorce suit which again came before the President (Lord Merrivale) in the Divorce Court, ended yesterday.

Sir Max Jubus Philip Bonn, the merchant banker, was granted a decree niti on the grounds of the misconduct of his wife, Lady Hida Beatrix Bonn, with Mr. Arthur Marcus Hanbury. Costs were given against Lady Bonn and costs for an agreed amount against Mr. Han- bury.

The case, which had occupied the attention of the Divorce Court'en

sixteen days last term. was in the hist to be heard by a special jury, 7.47 bus as there were no facts remain- in in dispute the jury were not sworn. The ccats of the suit were already estimated to have amount ed to £30,000.

At a meeting the Manchester Atheneum Textile Society Mr. J. W. Lord, of Rochdale, gave an ad- dresa on "Automatic looms and their effect on the cotton trade. Sir Walter Schwabe, K.C., for Sir Max, said that Sir Max, in his petition, made allegations of mis- conduct against Lady Bonn. with Sir Ronald Waterbouse and Mr. Arthur Marcus Hanbury. No evi dence would be offered against "Sir Ronald, who" expressed regret for letters which he had written and for attention paid to Lady Boon, and for-the pain and unhappiness caused therchy. It was agreed that he should be dismissed from the suit and no order as to costs mede against him.

With regard to the financial. aspect, Mr. Lord gave examples of savings made by well-known

American mills by use of the auto, matic loom, and said that a mass of costa that "had. hyen examined showed that in general the weave- roour costs where automatic looms were used worked out somewhere about half the weave room costs where non-automatic looms were used, and it was found possible at the same time to increase the wages of the skilled weaver by from 20

per cent to 40 per cent.
