MACAO RACES.

MANY UPSETS OF FORM.

MA KAU SIAC WINS AGGREGATE STAKES.

STEWARDS HOLD ENQUIRY.

[BY EARLY BIRD.]"

Backers bad another bad day at the eleventh extra race meeting which was held by the Macao Race and Recreation Club yes- terday afternoon. Although the sun was notably absent until the Afth race he appeared then, and shore brightly until the Macno crack had won his race. Then he disappeared for the rest of the day. There was just sufficient suap in a light northerly, breeze to make those present either keep moving or else and a sheltered spot which allowed a peep at the racing.

"

With the exception of the two "A" Class events the finishes" were fairly good and the winner of the "O" Class event rather surprised everybody by winning easily to finish the race in better time than the "B" Class race

THE CLASSIC EVENT.

The classic event The Aggregate Stakes gave G. U. da Raza who rode the winner & chance of turning the tables on Mr. R. H. Charles who best him for the Aggregate Stakes in Hong Kong. Ma Kau Sine, the winner, won His race without being pushed.. His points now total twelve and it is a certainty that the Cup will go to his sporting owner. Dr. Carlos de Mello Leitao, tho Chairman of the General Committee.

Special praise is due to Mr. Paul Hodgson who officiated an starter. Novice riders who are mostly the cause of bad beginninga should endeavour to handle their ponies, instead of having them held at the post by sleepy mafoos who, invariably hang on to the "pony too lang which spoils whatever chance the animal bas of

winning his race.

MR. WONG SATISFIES THE STEWARDS.

The Stewards of the meeting held an inquiry into the running of Vilor Franta (late Zircon II.) who won the Second November Consolation Plate, the last event of the day. Mr. T. L Wong, the rider, was called before the Stewards to explain the difference of form as compared to his pony's running in the "B" Class Handicap where his mount ran last and the last event which he won. Mr. Wong was able to tender a satisfactory explanation" which closed the inquiry.

י -

Mr. Jimmy" Backhouse who rode the winner of the first event and incidently paid the biggest dividend of the day, succeed- ed in passing out of his novice class, as I expected he would before the close of the season.....
