MACAO RACES.

PROSPECTS OF INTERESTING MEETING.

RE-ARRANGEMENT OF PROGRAMME.

SELECTIONS.

[ET EARLY BIRD.]

There should be a bumper attendance at the eleventh extra race meeting which has been arranged by the Macao Race Club for Sunday, the 18th inst. The first saddling bell will be rang at 1 pm and the first race will commence at 1.30 p.m.

The entries are a little short of the number which participat- ed at the last meeting and it looks as if there is going to be a scarcity of first class ponies. However, some of the entrants have well and truly kept their end up during the present season, and doubtless we shall see some very interesting racing on afternoon.

The weather is ideal for racing at the moment and owing to the dry season the course should be in a very fine condition as was noticeable at Happy Valley last Saturday.

The Committee have changed the races round to some extent, and instead of the Novices Face opening the programme: the meet- ing will be commenced with the lowest division of the Handicap Events.

The Hong Kong F.C. receive Kowloon F.C. to-day and the gaze- will have an added interest as the new Club house will be officially opened by H.E. the Officer Adminis tering the Government before the kick of. A very keen game is ex- pected as each team will be out to secure their first League win of the season. L. Havy . China Athletic." The Royal Navy will be strongly represented in their game at Caro Line Hill against the China Ath- letic. The game should be well 11.56 contested and a great crowd is ex- pected. Although the Athletic are | 19.00", the favourites, the sound defensive play of Baker and Barkham almuid 12.04 p.m. serve the Navy well. A couple of forwards with a bit of dash should account for the Athletic. Will Kernick, who played for Kowloon last season, rise to the occasion to-day.3

· King's Park will be the seen of a good tussle between South China and the Club de Recreio Should South China forwards play their usual game, the home team will be behind when the final whistle sounds. Pao E Ping is on the injured list so the visitors will have to take over a junior goalkeeper.

Ace of Spades if started for this race should just about win, 'as 'a careful scrutiny of the other can- didates leads me to believe that the field is mostly composed of minors unless Un If or Sutherland is sent out, which might alter matters. The Duke of Nieblung may start here and despite the fact that he requires a lot of riding to keep him up, he may catch the Judge's eye at the finish.

The top weight, Duke of Nieblung, who has improved beyond measure, will take a lot of beating for this

Consolation Plate. The Haugh, who shows plenty of speedster over half a mile, should event especially if ridden by Wong.

Glory, who is a handy little pace in a short distance event, may be able to show the opposition, home figure prominently as he also shows
