SEASON'S FIRST REGATTA.

ROWING AND SAILING.

JARDINE'S CREW CAPTURE HORNELL CUP.

HRS. J. L. PEARSON PRESENTS PRIZES.

The first regatta of the season of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club was held on Saturday afternoon, before a large gathering of interested spectators. The rowing events were a success, but the same could not be said of the sailing, there being insufficient wind to make the race interesting. The ladies who had charge of the belis were severely teated but came through with credit.

One feature of the regalia was that Jardine'i staw captured the Hornell Cup after having laid up their pars for a long time. They came back" only two months ago and had by dint of hard practice, once again established their superiority."....

The Denison Challenge Cup for junior pairs over a distance of three-quarter mile was secured by the German members of the Club. There with only two entries, and the winners successfully kept up their lènd over the British pairs
