The general cargo" returns for the 24 hours, ended at 9 am. yesterday showed a slight increase, in local "imports, which were again quite
good.
Through freights were well above the average" and also showed an im provement over the previous day's total. Fourteen arrivals and twenty-Titan, Nov. 20th.

The master of the P. & O. liner | Kashgar (Captain L. L. Williams) which arrived from Yokohama aad Shanghai reported that at 9.30 a.01. on September 26th he sighted. a small Japanese motor vessel in dis- tress and rescued six Japanese fishermen who were swimming in the sea close by. These fishermen were brought to Hong Kong.
