Everyone who knows anything about baseball will admit that C.L.C. is very biased. A very regrettable incident occur- red during Sunday's game and I note that C.LC. was careful not to give the public an account of it. Had the offending player been playing for another team and not the Filipinos, he would have made
lot of comment.
In cate C.L.C. does not wish to comment about the incident, please allow me to give the details.
A "Houg Kong player was run- ning to second base and a member of the Filipino Club threw the ball to second to catch the runner. It was a close play and the base um pire, Mr. Lee, called the runner safe"; whereupon the Filipino lost his temper and drew back his arm to strike Lee a blow. Mr. Lee promptly walked off the field and left them to find another umpire, seeing they were not satisfied with "nifty little boy," Hachiuma, who man and a sportsman and I think played a most arduous game be-be did the right thing in walking bind the plate.
