Hakodate Maru (Japanese) from Calcutta and Sin gapore with 6,783 tons of general cargo. The ss. Everett (American) from Tacoma and Manila second best with 6,086 tona. Three other foreign vessels carried cargoes exceeding 4,000 tons.

RIVER BOATS LATE ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

Exceptionally low water in the River was reported by the masters of the Canton River steamers which arrived here late on Saturday night. The boats all leave normal- ly at the scheduled time about 4.30 p.m, but departure was put off until 3.30 p.m. The s.3. Sai On took the Honám passage, which she just managed with an inch to spare.' The Steamboat Company's vessel the Tai Shan, which is a larger boat was obliged to wait still longer.
