DECREASE IN CARGO TOTALS.

ALL THROUGH CARGO CAR. RIED BY BRITISH VESSELS.

The general cargo returns for the 21 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday' again showed a decrease for both local imports and through freights. Six British vessel carried all the through cargo. There were elevan arrivals end fifteen departures of which six arrivals and nino depar- tures were British ships.

Nine vessel, discharged 5,390 taus of merchandise for this port and five British vessels contributed 2,210 tons. The best carrier was the Prosper (Norwegian) with 2,300 tons of rice from Saigon. The 5.5.. Szechuen (British) from Shanghai and Swatow discharged 750 tons of general cargo.

Only 2,546 tons of through freights, carried by six British ships were shown. The were no foreign contributors and the best carrier was the s.s. Linan, from Shanghai and Amoy with 690 tons. The s.s. Haiching from Foochow and Swatow and the ss. Tunnan from Canton each had 500 tons of general cargo each.
