POLICE FAIL TO BEAT THE CHAMPIONS.
"DOUBLE
CRICKET CLUB'S. "
AGAINST NEIGHBOURS.
FEATURES OF SATURDAY'S MATCHES.
Police confidence in their ability to lower the colours of the undefeated champion, was badly shaken when they visited their neighbours on Saturday. The Police did very well before the tes interval when they were only three shots down on all rinks. It was after the interval that Craigengower asserted their superiority and for the first time this season won on all rinks. A feature of the match was the Rae recovery of Omar'e zink in turning a deficit of 10 shots (7-17) in the fifteenth head, by scoring in "every subsequent head, to a win by 20-17. Bradbury held the lead on J. Clark all the way. Moes started well by gaining the first shots, but Basa soon passed him
Kowloon Docks gained the runners-up position on their victory over Taikoo and the defeat of their rivals for the honour. Taikoo lost by five shots, though they had a lead on two rinks, owing to Wallace being badly beaten by Lapsley, The rink led by the latter has been beaten in many of their games but on Saturday they carried the lasing rinks well.
The Derby" of the neighbouring Clubs in Kowloon ended in a surprise. Last time the Bowling Green beat their neigh- bours comfortably in both divisions. On Saturday the Kowloon Cricket Club turned the tables on the Bowling Green by creditable margina.
In the junior division, the Yacht Club "gained their third victory when they were the guests of Recreio Bat King's Park. The winning margin. was small, but the visitors had the distinction of holding their own on all rinks after their last defeat at home by 20 shots to the same team.
The Civil Service cleared à difficult hurdle in their race for the championship (and promotion) by defeating Craigengower. Their strong rink which comprised senior division players was beaten, but it was left to skip Massey to bent his opposing rink by 20, shots. As usual Taylor's rink was again up although by the smallest margin, and this Civil Service skip maintained his reputation as the most consistent player in the junior division of the League.
East Point showed improved form when they met Taikoo and a very good game ended in favour of the visitors by one shot.
Recreio "A" defeated the "P" team in their return match played yesterday at King's Park, RESULTS AT A GLANCE.
