IMPORTS LOW: THROUGH"

FREIGHTS GOOD.

Local importa shown for the 2 hours ended at 9am, yesterday were again low but through freights showed a heavy increase over the previous day's figures Only ane, British ship had cargo for this port while an Italian vessel was shown a best carrier for both Hong Kong and ports beyond

There were only eleven arrivals and seven departures.

Six vessels discharged 8,850 tons of general merchandise for this port and one ship was British, the s.5. Tean, contributed 1,119 tons of cargo from Hoihow. The best re- turn was shown by the s.. Romolo (Italian) from Yokohama and Shanghai with 3,020 tons. The s.1. Deva wangse (Chinese) from Faur. ang and Holbow discharged 1,581 tons and was second best carrier.

Seven ships carried 19:084 tons of through freight of which two British ships were responsible for only 415 tons. The best carrier was again the .. Romols which had a heavy cargo of 7,000 tons of general merchandise. The 5.3.

Japan (Swedish) from, Gothenburg and Singapore was second best carrier with 3,000 tons.
