Fumes from a hold containing a large consignment of oranges are, believed to have contributed to the death of John Christie, ship's elec trician in the Union Castle liner
Mr. Christie, whose home is at Weston-hilt, London, went into the refrigerating chamber of this par- ticular hold to attend to the elec tric light, but was not missed for some time, when a search was made, and he was found lying dead, having apparently been suffocated. He was buried at sea. about a week ago.
