Chinese Man-of-War Sailor Jumps

Overboard.

The Captain of the s. Tuet On of the Canton run reports that a Chinese seaman named Chan Ting Chan of the Chinese man of war Cheng Sang was a passenger of board the vessel from Hong Kong on Tuesday, and jumped overboard at about 30 a.m. the next day The vessel stopped but the sailor could not be found and the search had to be abandoned. A report of be incident was made to the Can- ton Naval Authorities on arrival at |that City, à few letters which were left on bis seat were also handed over to the Naval authorities.
