LAWN BOWLS.
TAIKOO'S HARD STRUGGLE WITH CRAIGENGOWER.
DOCKYARD'S FIRST HOME DEFEAT BY RIVALS.
SATURDAY'S LEAGUE RESULTS.
Leaders and runners up in both divisions of the Lawn Bowls League all won their matches on Saturday. Civil Service senior went down again champions, losing badly on Grimmitt's rink. Their junior team maintained their position at the top of the table, winning comfortably on two rinks.
The results of all matches were as expected with the exception of the return match between Craigengower and Taikoo at the Dock- sard ground. Taikoo were expected" to wie "as they generally do at home, but had their colours lowered by Craigengower on their own ground for the first time in League encounters. Wallace, last year's Interport skip, with Laing playing as No. 1, again drew to play Omar's rink. When Taikoo collapsed the lass time at the Valley, Wallace was two up on Omar. The latter turned the tables this time, thanks mostly to accurate draws by his No. 9 (Beer), Arculli Was good in patches and gave much`asațstance to his skip în baild- ing the barricades which shut the Taikos men out. The other two `rinks played a close game in which "joss" had no chatace
A. Clatk's riik, the strongess on the Police side, fell to Gibson of the EC.C., but the other two Police quartettes carried them to victory. They stand next to the leaders and will probably finish there,
In defeating the Recreio "B" team at the Valley, the Civil Service junior tenik won by a larger margin than was expected. They are fighting their way for promotion, while their senior team is to be relegated. Recreio "A" team is, however, dikely to challenge C.8.C.C. for premier place in Division II. The latter again established a big margin victory in accounting for Taikoo who were expected to give a better account of themselves. RESULTS AT A GLANCE | Kowloon Bowling G.0. r. East

RECREIO II.'S POSITION: IMPROVED..
Despite very hot weather on Saturday a full programme of matches was carried out in the Division, some keen struggles being registered.
The two teams of the Chinese Recreation Club wērę again success. fal. Their second string engaged the South China Athletic Associs tion who had at one time hopes of
•threatening their supremacy, but the result was an overwhelming victory for the Chinese Recreation Club by 31 games. The winners' first string best the Ciril Service Cricket Club easily by a games Both teams have thus consolidated their respectivò positions and are on the top of the League Table each with eleven matches played and
won.
As a result of Saturday's matches, the Recreio II. have improved thelf position as runhere-up to the Chi- nend Recreation Club. Before that, they tied with South China with one match lost cachi, but thele success against the Kennedy Road Married Quarters and the failure of South Chins against the Chinese R.C.
