Thongh many of the subscribers carmark their donations for the pensants, nearly all the money is being devoted to propaganda, which Mr. Gandhi claims to be the fund's primary object.
It is being spent on the prepara- tion and daily distribution of 13,000 leaflets, petrol, transport, pastage, and the support of 250 agitators.
According to rumours, less than £15 has been devoted so far to actual relief.
