NEW WORLD CONVENTION.

GENEVA, June 26th.

A new international convention for bird protection is to be launch- ed as soon as possible, according to a decision just taken here by the International Committee for Bird Protection.

The new convention will replace the Paris convention of 1009 on the subject but which is now entire- ly inadequate to keep many of the most important types of migratory birds from being extinguished.

If possible the League of Nationa will be induced to take over the

Among the provisions which it is hoped to include in the convention is one establishing bird reserves and sanctuaries is all countries.
