SHANGHAI, July 2nd.

The final session of the Economic Conference on Saturday morning was a cheerful affair, the delegates sitting down to a tiffin as guests of the Ministry of Finance. Speeebes were made, by the principal ones and there were replies by the Minister and "Vice-Minister of Finance.

"There is no doubt that the commercial community has grasped the gravity of "the demobilization problem id is prepared to pit the power of the purse against the militarists, should the need arise. Mr. T. V. Scong pointed out the issues with commendable clearness, finishing his speech with a warning that it depended on the merchant classes themselves how far they would be able to make their will prevail.
