Only Washing Fishing Nets. In answer to the charge the first defendant replied that the children were only washing the fishing neta,

The Police officer pointed out lo his Worship, that the fishing nets were quite dry,

The defendants, also said that they had just returned from the fishing ground and had hung on to the lighters to be sowed back into Yaumati

The Magistrato convicted both de- fendants and imposed a fine of $10 on each of them.

ABOUT TO FIX HIS LIGHT

In answer to a summons for fail ing to exhibit the usual regulations lights on his ateam Launch, a cox. swain named Kwok Kau, pleaded that his tail light had just gone out and was about to fix it when he was arrested

The police officer replied that the light was out for a considerable period and that it was necessary to go full speed ahead to overtake the launch whose lights were all out.

His worship imposed & fine of $25 or three weeks' imprisonment. IN TYPHOON SHELTER WITH
