LONDON, May 13th. Miss Maggie Macauley, aged 44, and Miss Sarah Macauley, aged 30, sisters of Mr. Andrew Macauley, J.P., of Armoy. County Antrim, were shot dead in a struggle with an arred man yesterday afternoon
The man entered Mr. Macnuley's house at about four o'clock. Mr. Macauley was out in the fields with farmers at the time, and his sisters were alone. The sisters apparently pluckily tackled the man and were shot with their brother's gun.
They were found lying beside each other on the kitchen floor with their brains almest blown out.
The man escaped with £40 and a gold watch and chain. All the available police for miles around were notified and wet out'in search of him. Last night they scoured the county in motor-cars, and the people from the villages around
also organised "search parties..
It is believed that the man is one who was already being sought by the police at Ballycastle, about 10 miles away, in connection with two small burglaries at houses in the Ballycastle district.
