SHIPPING RETURNS FAIR.

Seventeen arrivals and eighteen departures were shown for the 24 hours ended at 9 am. yesterday, and the general cargo returns for both Hong Kong and through ports showed good figures Through freights averaged 3,000 tons per vessel. Fourteen vessels discharged merchandise for this port totalling 17,249 tons, and two British ships contributed 4.643 tons. The best

cargo returns were shown by the s.s. Shinei Maru No. with 3,500 tons from Dairen and Chafoo; and the
