MODERATE.

The general cargo returns for Hong Kong showed a heavy de- crease, while through cargo was only moderate. Only one British vessel had through cargo. ita

Twelve arrivals und fourteen do partures were recorded thers being ave British arrivale and savez de partures. Nine vessels discharged| cargo for this port amounting to 5,928 tona. Four British ships con- tributed 2,000 tons and the 4.5. King Yuan (British) was best carrier with 2,250 tons, 3.5. Cremer (Dutch) had 823 tons from Singa

The vessel figured amongst the KASHMIR “ best cargo carriers for through "KIDDERPORE" porta with 6,057 tons of gasolone, kerosene, and general cargo. She also discharged 465 tons of oil fuel for Hong Kong.

The vessel at present is anchored off Stonecutiers.

Death On S.S.** Anking." The s.sinking which arrived in port yesterday reports the death of one of the crew from beri-beri. The vessel arrived fom Singapore and Amoy.

Another Death Reported.

The a.. Limehow (French)" from Haiphong and Heibow reported that a Chinese died on board at 8 p.m. on the 19th instant, and the body was removed yesterday morn- ing at 7 a.m. and taken to the Mortuary. The latter vessel carried 301 Asiatic deck passengers.

Asiatic Deck Passengers. Four vessels brought 2,329 Asiatic deck passengers to the Colony thir ing the 24 hours ended at 9 am yesterday, The as Cremer carried a total of 1,900 of the passengers from Deli and Singapore.
