He waited for fully three hours when the foki returned and said the notes were bad. A report was made to the Police and the second defendant was arrested.
Meanwhile this money-changer, who had already been victimised by the first defendant, sent a foki to all money-changers in Yauamti to warn them. The foki came to one shop who said that a man had just come with two of the notes and as they were found to be forgeries, the man was sent awny."
No one knew where the man had gone to, and his arrest was brought about in a very peculiar way. He was walking in the street when he was accosted by a total stranger who asked him if he had any Singa pore notes on him. First defendant at once produced one from his pocket and showed it to the stranger, To his surprise and dismay, he was placed under arrest.

On the first defendant he found a dagger tucked away in his girdle. The man ako had a piece of wiré in his right hand pocket. A search of the second defeadant resulted in the find of another dagger. The third defendant was found to have three daggers on him.
The three men were taken to the Police Station where they pleaded that a certain man had asked them to carry the weapons to the tea- house and had promised to give them a dollar each for their trouble. The Police gave them every facility to find the man, but they had failed to do so.
The defendants told the same story to the Magistrates, who, after bearing the evidence, sentenced the men to three years' hard labour each. The daggers were ordered
to be confiscated.
