IMPORTS AND THROUGH CARGO LOW.

GERMAN VESSEL'S 9,000 TONS THROUGH CARGO,

The cargo returns for Hong Kong showed a heavy decrease against the previous day's figures Through freights also showed a decrease though one vessel carnied 9,000 tons. Of the seventeen arrivals and fifteen departures, eight of the arrivals were British vessels.

The total amount of general mere chandise discharged for this port amounted to 9,391 tous, and six British vessels contributed. 8,131 tous. Two British ships were best carriera. The .. Yurang from Tientsin and Waihaiwei had 1,700 tons, while the s.a Antung had 1,400 teas from Singapore and Ahoy,

Eight vessels carried through cargo which amounted to 16,300 toms, of which four British ships were responsible for 3,070 tons. The German s.a. Pfal: carried 9,000 tons from Hamburg and Singapore. while the . Kaando Maru had 2,333 tons from Yokchania and Moji.

Newill at the Marine Court yesterday morning Lam Ah Tak, a watchman of the Taikoo Dockyards was aum- moned for being in charge of a motor-ear, whilas underway without 2 certificate of competency from the Harbour Master; and with failing to exhibit the regulation lights on No. 2 Motor-Bout whilst underway at 10.30 p.m..om the 20th instant.

Lance-Sergeant Whitby who made | "MALWA” the arrest was in charge of the case, and the defendant pleaded guilty.

A European Official of the Taikoo Dockyards appeared in Court and explained that the defendant was
