Japanese Losses.

TSINGTAO, May 12th, Forty, Japanese officers and men are reported to have been killed and 143 injured, including 67 seriously, since May 3rd.

Foreign Commissioner's Fate, PAXING, May 12th. As regards the fate of Mr. Tsai King Shih (the Nationalist Com- missioner of Foreign Affairs at Tainan), whom the Chinese said had been murdered by the Japanese, the Japanese now fear that he is dead.

Apparently, when the Japanese took over his yamen, he was not there. During the fighting, be at tempted with a party of Chinese soldiers to enter or approach the Foreign Affairs Bureau which Jap anese soldiers were bolding. The whole party was mown down by machine-guns.
