The returns of cargo for the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9 alm. yesterday showed a mark- ed increase on the poor figures team, June 15th corded during the past few days. There were nineteen "arrivals, and twenty departures, and eight of the eleven British arrivals discharged cargo for this port

Local imparte amounted to 20,518 tons, and British vessels contribut ed 14,505 tons. Two British vessels headed the list as best carriers The 11. San Fernando discharged 8,333 tons of general merchandise from San Pedro, while the 5.5. Telemachus from Saigon had 2,000 tons of rice.

Through freights carried by ten vessels totalled 27,088 tons, an average of over 2700 tona per vessel. Seven British vessels car- ried 10,133 tons. The best carrier was the sa Malaya (Danish) with 10,000 tons from Copenhagen and Singapore.

The Merionca" (British) also carried 6,760 tons from Swansea and Singapore

A master of a fishing junk was charged before Commander J, B. Newill at the Marina Court yester day with loitering in the vicinity of the Naval Anchorage. The de fendant pleaded guilty and was fired $5.

Two Chinese mistresses of cargo boats appeared before Comdr. I. B. Newill at the Marine Court yesterday morning for anchoring their craft within 100 yards of low water mark during the prohibited hours.
