Canadian Pacific Line.. Although there were

twelve | Empress of Hussia, May 7th. arrivals, and seventeen departures Empress of Asia, May 14th.. during the 4 hours ended at Dam

Dodwell & Co. yesterday the general cargoes disendal Castle, May 7th. eharged for Hong Kong were ex tremely low. Only six vessels dis charged cargo for Hong Kong, and of these four were British steamers. The through freights from seven vessels showed a very good average of about 3,000 tons per vessel.

Local imports amounted to only 1,464 tons and four British' vessels contributed 1.1 tons. Two other foreign vessels carried the remain ing 350 tons. The best returns were shown by two British vessels with 400 tons and 305 tons respectively

Through freights from seven ves- sels totalled 20,877 tons, and of this total 17,573 tons were carried by five British vessels. Again two British ships headed the list as best car-Fogtland, May 19th. riers The ss. Calchas from Otaru and Shanghai had 7,230 tons, and the s.3. ilipore had 5,317 tons from Bombay and Singapore.
