CAR MAINTENANCE SIMPLI FIED.

Perhaps the greatcet difference in pre- and post-war motoring is that a car is now accepted as a means to an end rather than the

It is stated that a new taxi-cab company has been formed and have placed orders through losers Lane, Crawford, Ltd., who are the local agents, for a number of Cirno

motor-cars..

The newly-formed taxi-cab com. pany, which by the way, is called The New Taxi-cab Company, has placed an order for 30 of these new taxi-cabs. The cars are being ordered through lessrs. Rootes, Ltd., the famous London motor car distributors.

THE TWO-PORT HARLEY SINGLE

Harley riders will all welcome the new addition to the ranks of the Harley-Davidson "modele. This is the new two-port 350 cc. It is the Insteatone-tunger" produced by the Company and in many ways is identical to the model used for track-ricing.

Agenta, Mesars. A. Gascon & Co., Harley riders should call on the and see the two photographs of the new model. The models can be either fitted with the usual handle- bars and foot-boards or the Eng- lish type of bars and foot-rests can be fitted, if so desired, with no extra charge. To-day no one wants to see machi- nery more than they need, and hence the modern car must be casilyvaleted" and "vetted." One of the directions in which great progress has been made in simphfying maintenance is in the method of oiling the chassis parts. On the more old-fashioned cars this was done by dozens of grease cups and cape that each had to be screw ed and unscrewed and then 6lled up with grease-an awkward, messy these cabs have been personally and time-wasting job. THAT COMPREHENSIVE SIGNAL

When asked what, in his opinion, the average motoriat intends to convey when he puts his right hand out as a signal, an experienced rider of Douglas machines states that in the course of his road travels he haa personally discovered that it can mean: A

FABRIC BODY HINTS.

So many owners are maing fabric bodies that the following hints on their care and maintenance are sued by Armstrong Siddeley Motors, Ltd.

WASHING. A fabric body should be washed down with a hose and sponged, and then leathered off in the same way as a coach or cellu lose painted body. As there is no need to give a final polish after
