Many leading members of the Portuguese community were present at the Roman Catholic Cathedral' on Saturday for the wedding, be tween Miss Lina da Rocha, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. da Rocha, and Mr. Horacio de Gareis, son of the late General Garcia and Mrs. Amelia Alvares de Garcia.
The service was taken by, the Right Rev. Bishop Valtorts, assist ed by other clergy of the Cathedral. The bride, who was given away by her father, Mr. J. M. da Rocha Lucien Lelong frock of white satin and georgette trimmed with Bounced ruffles-with ex- quisite Brussels lace veil caught up with two bunches of orange blos She carried a shower of lilies-of-the-valley, pink rosebuds and maiden-hair ferns.

She was attended by Miss Edith da Rocha, Miss L. de Garcia, Miss Chon and Miss Delcie da Silva as bridesmaids and by the little daughter of Mrs. Lobato (the bride- groom's sister) as fower girl. The bridesmaids were dressed in rose shaded georgette trimmed with dainty cream-coloured valencienne lace, and large pink crinoline hats with a bunch of roses in the pastel shadca. Miss Marie Amelia Pia heiro, the flower girl, carried a pretty silver-coloured basket of lilies-of-the-valley, and butterfly roses, whilst the others carried bouquets of pink roses and ferna. The bride's mother wore a white and black georgette dress broidered with. äilver beads.
