Local imports amounted to 9,893 tons, of which saven British vessels contributed 5,371 tous. A British vessal was the best carrier with 3,440 toris, namely the LA Apoy from Saigon with a cargo of rice. The second best_return was shown by theas. Harunarri Maru from Sanarinda with 2,000 tons of coal.

Through brights were very low, and of the total 6,350 tons six Bri tish vessels carried no less than

5,036 tocs. Two British vessels headed the list as best carriers These were the ax Sui Song with 2,081 tons from Calcutta and Singa pore, and the 5. Mongolia from Tokohama and Shanghai with 1,500

tons.
