and twenty-fire departures durius the 24 hours gnded 0 a.ni. yester day, but the local imporès discharg- ed for Hong Kong were only fair. Through freights, although lower than the previous day's figurès, were up to average.

General cargoes manifested for Hong Kong totalled 9,992 tons, of which 3,384 tons were contributed by five British vessels.

The A. Kum Sang was the best British carrier. The two best re- turns were from the Carvellar (Italian) with 4,910 tons from Saigon, nad the sa. Hung On (Chinese) from Port Kamta with

1,850 tons of coal.

Through freights amounted 14,293 tons and four British vessels carried 8,913 tons. The 8. Kum Sang with 3,027 tona was again the best eargo carrier of the four British vessels. The two best re- turnrs, however, where shown by the s.s. Ansger (German) with 5,100 tens from Bremen and Singapore. The Kum Sang was second best car rier with 3,0 tons.-

The P. & O. 15. Kalyan left Shanghai for Hong Kong on the 3rd inst. at 3 p.m., with the mails, and is due here to-morrow (Friday) at about 6 a.m

The N.D.L .s. Fulda left Shang- hai on April 3rd, and is expected to arrive here to-morrow (Friday); She will sail for Europe zid Manila, Singapore and ports.on the same day.

The B.I. and Apcar as, Santhie jeft Kobe for Hong Kong on the 3rd inst, and is due here on Sunday morning, the 8th inst
