JAPANESE BATTLESHIPS OPEN TO VISITORS.

A large squadron of Japanese warships is due in Hong Kong on Easter Monday. The squadron will consist of the battleships Nagato (flagship); Juteu and Fuso, the cruiser Tenryu, four des troyers and the Fleet Auxiliary Tsurumi,

Admiral Kanji Kato, the Japanese Commander-in-Chief, will fly his flag on the Fuguto and will be accompanied by his Chief of Staff. Rear-Admiral Hamano Rear-Admiral Ikuo Okomoto in command of the destroyer flotilla, will fly his flag on the cruiser Tenry and H.1.H. Prince Kuni who is paying an incognito visit, is a lieutenant on his staff.

The Japanese Warships will be opened to the general public, and these who wish to avail themselves of this opportunity to visit pass from the Japanese or them may do so by applying for a Colonial Authorities.

ENTERTAINMENT ARRANGEMENTS.

A very elaborate programme of entertainment has been drawn up for the officers and men, including a reception and a dinner at Government House, dinners given by the British" Commander-in- Chief, Vice-Admiral Sir Reginald Tyrwhitt, Bart., K.C.B., D.S.O., D.CL, and H.E. the General Officer Commanding, Major-General C. C. Luard, C.B., CM.G., the British Chamber of Commerce, and the Japanese Consul-General. Receptions will be given by the Japenese community of Hong Kong, and the Japanese Commander- in-Chief will give a tiffin party on board his fagship.

An interesting programme of trips, by tram car and bus, round the Island and the New Territories has also been arranged, and special cinema performances will be given for the visitors. There will also be a Japanese sports meeting in which the local community as well as the men from the fleet will take part.

The local clubs are opening their doors to the officers and melt of the Japanese squadron, and all transport services are offering them special facilities and passes.

Friday, April 13th, Japanese Commander-in-Chief and Officers will be entertained to tiffin at the Kamlin Restaurant at 1 p.m. by the Chinese Chamber of Com- merce.
