From time to time I receive letteral from correspondents who desire thi abolition of simple honours. On gentleman, who says that he playt 13. or 2s. 6d, a 100, states that in making up the final score his friends estimate it to the nearest-DO that an honours score of 12 or 15 will not usually affect the result of the rubber.
There is something in his conten tion, but there are guments on both sides; and sinds the subjects on which bridge players are divided, an account of the arguments may not be out of place.
