VICTORIAN SUNSHADES.
I do not know if the idea was development of the new long picture frocks, but the very latest sunshades have a curious resem blance to those used by our grand- mothers. They are tiny and very feminine, far too tiny you would think to be used with the quite big hats which are the latest things in summer headwear.
I noticed when I went into the that there's many a women praying SIGN OF THE LANTERN the other day for a wet spell!

Most of these are "Milwata rain".conts, and I was told that there were a number of other de signs expected by a boat which should be in by the time you read this. The prices run from 319.50 and you can get umbrellas to match most of the coats.
There is one of pink ninon on which large parrots are painted, another combines two frills of gold lace with flower painted ninan; and a charming model is made of flesh. coloured georgette painted with | natural heads of delphinium grow- ing inward from the border.
The combination of fimy lace and georgette is charming. I parti- cularly admired one which has a narrow border of white georgette.| round an exquisite pices of black shadow lace, and another sunshade: which opens quite flat which s made up of tiny frills of deru lace separated by bands of ninon of the same shade painted with small con ventional Howers.
Two very smart sunshades are made of black chiffon and have large loose petaled silk fövern stitched on to them. But perhaps the most dainty of all is net cover- ed with tiny frills of apple grea taffetas.
The handles are all simple with a tassel to match the covering and are very short. These little sun- shades are as appealing down as
make them not unlike pretty even- up for the soft folds of the material

Most of the modern dress flowers have the assertiveness of orchids, but there, which I found in this shop were a daintier more retiring and. more naturalistic order. A BOUDOIR ENSEMBLE:
Very becoming both to the young flowers to woman and one not so young is the coiffeur illustrated. It has a centre parting and is waved so that the hair falls, in two curves round thei face, faighing with curls on the checks. This gives a charmingly softened effect to the profile while retaining the sleek outline desirable in the shingled coiffruer (Continued at foot of next column.)
