GOLF NOTES.
[BY R.HH.)
The accidental local fact that fourballs, or even foursomes, would be unpopular at Fanling on Sunday morning owing to the number of starters, does nothing to weaken my general contention, which has already been put forward in this column, that in a match the better arder is to play the singles last. Actually in the matter of local con- ditions, I do not think that three fourballs, starting in the same time as six singles, would hold up the play of the course very bally.
I think the G. M. Young Cup can be brought forward to support my plen. Following the singles which were played in the morning, the AP.C. had a lead of 14 holes aver

'Four Sandy Macs please'
For many years had the Four Cronies of the Exclusive Club led the fashion in drinks, calling for their **Scotchs" and "Scotchs and Sodas.”
Insomuch that when a Tall Tanned Stranger called for "Sandy Mac," whiskers wagged, papers rustled, and eyebrows rose among the Four.
Until they marked the way he drank. And observed the deference of George who served it.
Thereafter they whispered with George. Then amongst themselves. Later the senior Cronya Purple Colonel called in a clear voice Four Sandy Mace, please.” So men learn.
