This afternoon will conclude the programme of one of the most the Hong Kong Jockey Club. successful annual meetings held by
Mrs, Dunbar has the distinction to be the first Lady Owner to win the local Derby, and her husbant, I feel sure, lues not grudge her this share of the stables many victories. ! I was glad to see the Eve stable C.pick up a few wins on the third day. Their ponies seem to improve A.] day by day in every way. This stable is next to the Dunbar's in A. P. wins and places. Mr. Dynasty and father bad luck with King of Hearts, and Heir Apparent was none to good but I do not think those concerned are likely to be unduly worried their ill fortune, Messrs. Hynes and Mackie neem quite satisfied with their results although it looked at one time as if deck was good enough to win the Desby.

The Patersons' stable did not receive their share of wins and this is rather a pity in view of Mrs. A. Paterson's early departure for Shanghai. Bulteel in a first class Flocky but if you haven't got the eattle you can't get the wina, Mr. Ho Kom Tong managed to pick up a few crumbs of comfort on the third day. which is all to the good ax be maintains a big stable. A Sensation At Shanghai. Sensation was caused on Monday along the Shanghai river front by the holding up of the China Mer- chanta str. Aranglee.
