The University lost because they were the wenker batting side pluckily as they tried, and because they had no bowler to back up Guterres by making the batsman play at the ball. Once their off theory lost its length it was 10 or 12 runs in the over. But they lost with all honour and I still think that they have an excellent chance of winning the League. They should beat the Navy-if they don't get their tails down and with only 3 points dropped Kowloon will have to work, even to equal them. It is POLICE rumoured that the Civil Service pro- pose to beat Kowloon-if enough of the Kowloon side go to the races instead.

Laing, Guterres and Lam were all out to identical balls which pitched on the middle, broke on to their pads, and thence deflected into the wickets, Goodwin who finally resumed got a wicket with one of the longest long hops I have ever seen, but after the 7th wicket had fallen for 88. the tide turned a bit. But Barrow who also had defended stubbornly now came into the picture. He was square cutting beautifully and with. Samy and more. particularly with Sling he helped the tail to wag its way to 145. His 31 was the best innings of the side and by far the best I have seen him play. Apart from Brace, the Kowloon bowling. was poor, with the exception of one or two of Goodwin's overs.
Kowloon had about one hour and three quarters to get 140 and I fully expected them to do it, as it is a fast-acoring ground. Hamsey and Teddy Fincher started as if they in- tended to do it themselves and after two quiet overs runs came of a great pace up to 35 when Guterres went n. Club de Recreio r. Polica. At King's Park, the game between the above trams ended in a draw of one goal all after extra time. The Police team ineluiled MeGreavy of the East Surreys who has returned to the Colony. He will probably be remembered as the centre half for the Regiment during their three years stay in the Colony. This game was very evenly contested, the Police putting up a strong defence ngainst a very nippy forward line.. The Recreio had Silva their frat well as a substitute. The only goal of goal absent, but Fernandez played the first half was scored by Silva Dia (3rd) who beat Clarke from close range.
