"YESTERDAY'S FREIGHT

RETURNS.

LOCAL IMPORTS' LOW.

THROUGH CARGO HIGH.

Although seventeen vessels arriv- ed here during the 24 hours ended at 9 am yesterday morning the cargo "nauilested for Hong Kong was low, while the through cargo remained high.

There were 6,539 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong, and of this total 790 tons were contributed up are British steamers The two best returns were 1,200 tons by the Kine Maru from Dairen, .000 by the Hanoi from Haiphong and Fort Bnyard.

Cargo for ports beyond the Colony, however, remained high. The through

cargo amounted tu 90,008 tous, of which six British steamers contributed 1770 tons.

The two best returns were shown by the s.s. Ceylon (Swedish) from Gothenburg and Singapore with 8.000 tons, while 3,320 tons carried by the Tategno Maru from Kofe and Iloilo.
