THIRTY-THREE ARRIVALS.

There were thirty-three vessels arriving here during the week-cad, ant freights brought both for the Colony and for other were normal. Yesterday's returns balanced those of Saturday's

ports

YESTERDAYS "REPORTS.--

For the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday, there were 21 steamers arriving into port. Frights brought for the Colony amounted to 20,818 tons, of which, 8,119 tons were contributed by five British ships.

The two best returns were 0,337 tons by the British ship Sunland, from Calcutta, and 2,600 tona by the Ekstrand, from Sebattick.

Through cargo totalled 14,337, tons. Four British vessels were responsible for 1,214 tone. two best returns were shown by the Japanese steamers Haruna Maru

and Sado Maru. The former ar riving from Shanghai manifested 3,416 tons and the latter, from Singapuro carried 4,351 tons.

SATURDAY'S FIGURES. There was a smaller number of vessels arriving into port during the 24 hours ended at 9 am, o Saturday with the result that | freights for Hong Kong were low. Through cargo, however, remained normal.

For the Colony only 7,137 tons were unloaded. Of these, five Bri- tish ships contributed 4,169, cons. The two best returns were shown by an American and a Chinese ships The latter carried 1,700 tons and the former was responsible for

1,132 tons.

Through cargo amounted to 94,194 tons, of which, 11,143 tons were carried in British bottoms. One British steamer was responsible for 1-4,306-tons-and-a-Dutch merchant man was the heaviest carrier with 7,057 tons.
