As a result of the årst day's play in the Interport Golf, Hong Kong have gained a very usela! two points over Manila. In other words, Manila will have to win five of the six singles on Sunday to beat the Home team.

There were a number of fine shots played during the day, but the things which struck me most was the number of missed putts. They wore the depressing finale to so many well, played holes.

In the early morning there was heavy mist on the hil, and it looked about a fifty-fifty chance that it would be, a wet day. la fact, Pendered brought out umbrellas for the Manila team, and this had the required effect of keeping the raid, off.
