materialised and the consequence was a renewal of confidence. Des-

speed. During the last few days Canton has at last been showing signs of reviving from the effects of the Red terror.

The troops and officials have been paid most of the arrears due to them, and the knowledge that this had been done relieved tears of

Ta Shin Fook, the eighteen years old Chinese who is accused of obtaining money by means of false statements and a forged will war on Saturday at the Central

In addition there were the follow- ing two charges' of perjury.

Following his committal accused made a statement in which he de- clared that three older men, one of them a former schoolmate led him! astray and that he handed over his father's derd box while under the influence of a drug. He said that the first time he saw the forget will was just before an interview with Mr. Lo Hip Shing, a local barrister.
