SHANGHAI, Dec. 19th. About three weeks ago a circular letter was sent out by the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Shanghai to various Chambers of Commerce in Nationalist territory proposing a convention of the Asso ciated Chambers of Commerce for the discussion of several vital prob lems with which the Chamber of Commerce as an organ devoted to mmercial prosperity of the nation is confronted.
Problems To Be Faced. These problems are as follows: (1) The question of a national bureau for the registration of commercial concerns and trade marks, and the ques- tion of the fees payable in connection with such regis tration..
(2) The question of machine- made domestic goods similar in style to goods of foreign make, and the question of taxation permitting the suc cessful production of such goods.
Shao Shan who declared the meet- ing opened. The Boy Scouts of the schools of the Cantonese Guild turned out in full strength, to render assistance and the regula tion of the traffic was ably handled by an adequate detachment from the Shanghai Municipal Police. Apart from, the delegates them selves there were over 200 guests who came to offer their greetings to the merchant-visitors from the various provinces.
