A good many think that co-opera- tion between Mr. Wang Ching Wei, and General "Chiang Kai Shek, while unlikely to achieve lasting results, might at least lessen the chances of the Kwangsi clique, pro- curing outside help... ALL QUIET AT THE FRONT.

1

So far there has been no real fighting in the West River district, and what have been reported us battles were only skirmishes be tween outposts. Kwangtung troops are being sent to the district and a serious struggle is by no means imposible.

Kwangsi, gunboats are being stationed above Shishing but below Wuchow to prevent Kwangtung forces advancing towards the upper West River.

In Canton City everything is quiet on the surface.
