The Chinese vessel Derwent went into Taikoo Dock yesterday to. have the final touches put to her annual overhaul. She had been in the hands of the Taikoo Docks at Yaamati for the last two months.

There were only 2,199 tons of,, Ireights landed here, of which, 699 tons were contributed by two Briis tish ships. The only four figure return was 1,800 tons of coal from Camfa Port by the s.s. Hung On. Through freights amounted to 4,646 tons. Four British steamers accounted for 2,336 tons, and one Chinese vessel was responsible for Tho the balance.

Around The World. Last Friday the R.M.S. Empress oj Australia began her round-the world tour for "the" Canadian Pacife Steamships, Ltd., from Now York. She is due at Hong Kong on February 10th, and three days will be spent Here, after which she will go to Shanghai. After doing the usual round of ports, the En press of Australia will reach New York again on April 19th. This liner, of course, was formerly on the Pacific run, and is well known at this port...

The master of the steam launch Wing Cheong was fined $20 for fail ing to observe the rules of the fair- way. This was stated to be his second offence.
