THROUGH CARGOES HEAVY. King, Dec. th.

The returns for the 24 hours' ended at 9 a.m. yesterday showed that freights brought into the Colony were low and that through cargoes remained normal.

There were only 3,602 tons of general merchandise imported. These were contributed by nine vessels out of the eleven arrivals Four British ships wore responsible for 3,879 tons. The two best re turns were 9,873 tons on the 3 Taisei Maru, from Miike, and 1.000 on the Shansi, from Hangay.

Through cargoes, which were manifested by seven steamers, totalled 17,061 tons, Two British vessels accounted for 8,200 tons. The two best, returns were shown by the s.s. Japan (Swedish) and the Crisfield (British). The former arriving from Vladivostock, and Shanghai had 6.373 tons and the latter from Canton variced 3,300

A Chinese passenger bravelling Yaumabi ferry yesterday jumped overboard while the vessel was in mid-stream and was drown ~ ed. The body was not recovered.

Woman, who tried to end her life by jumping into the harbour at Moogkoktrai, was rescued by some boat people. She was taken to the Kwong Wah Hospital for treat- ment. 笑
