Sailor Missing. When the Persian Prince arrived at Singapore at the end of last week, the master reported that a British sailor had been missing since October 31st.
A Valuable Haul.
A valuable seizure of chandu was made on board the steamer Hafther when she arrived at Sin gapore from China ports last week. Revenue Officers searched the ship when she anchored in the inner roads and discovered nearly $80,000 worth of chandu hidden in the tanks under the boiler.
Dangerous Kegligence.
The ninster of a cargo boat was charged at the Marine Court before Commsader G. F. Hole, with an choring his craft, which was laden with 200 tins of kerosene, in an anchorage other than the Dangerous Goods Anchorage. In imposing a fine of $100, or three months' hard labour, his Worship said that he could not take a lenient, view of the case, as such negligence on the part of boat owners might cause the loss of hundreds of lives.
Another 'boat master. was fined 85 for plying his cinder junk in the harbour without a Heence.
